Taylor Swift Hailed A Thousand Screams

For Taylor Swift, each song that she creates and sings is a chance to reach out to the world, to connect with millions of her fans who may have shared the same experiences in Taylor’s colorful life. Each song speaks of such genuine emotion. Needless to say, each song has made a remarkable impact in people’s lives and this is just one of the many reasons why Taylor Swift ultimately is the multi-awarded and most celebrated artist of today!
The Philippines just can’t get enough of Taylor Swift even after her concert last February 19 and it seems vice-versa as manifested in her own tweet just hours after the show: “Manila , I adore you. And how loudly you screamed and sang during tonight’s show! Pretty much my favorite sound ever. Still smiling!!” With an overwhelming sold-out attendance and with the entire coliseum engulfed by a sea of screaming teenagers who passionately sang out loud each song with their ultimate idol throughout the show, Taylor Swift clearly won the hearts of her Filipino fans. Her flawless and heartfelt performance starting with her first song in the repertoire, “Sparks Fly” up until the very last note of her #1 hit single, “Love Story” has left everyone in a state of euphoria.
All those who have been very fortunate enough to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime meet and greet opportunity with Taylor Swift were overwhelmed by her warm and radiant presence as she would even hug and kiss the youngsters (some of whom even cried out of sheer joy) during the meet and greet. MCA Music Inc. group headed by Ricky Ilacad presented Taylor with a native ‘banduria’ as a gift from the Philippines, designed and created by RJ Guitars. Andre Alvarez (Channel Head) and Mila Labendia (Channel Manager) of MYX Philippines also personally handed Taylor the 2010 Favorite International Music Video Award for “Love Story” of which Taylor was surprisingly grateful for.
And as Taylor Swift wrapped up her amazing ‘Speak Now’ Asian Tour concert series in Hongkong last February 21, Universal Music Group heads from the different Asian countries presented her with their respective awards. Mr. Ricky Ilacad, Managing Director of MCA Music, Inc. proudly honored Taylor Swift with two distinct awards: 9X Platinum Award for her ‘Fearless’ album, which has sold more than 135,000 albums (highest sales record worldwide) and a Platinum Award for her latest ‘Speak Now’ album for an outstanding sales of more than 15,000 albums in just a span of four months. These two custom-made, hand-crafted awards, made out of our country’s finest indigenous materials are specially designed by Grassroots Philippines. With numerous accolades received from all over the world, Taylor Swift truly has become an inspiration not just to her fans but to all those who are fearless enough to speak out to the world and show that indeed, passion is all it takes.

Beyonce donates Gadhafi money to Haiti

Beyonce’s publicist says the U.S. pop star has donated to charity the money she earned performing for the family of Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi.
“All monies paid to Beyonce for her performance at a private party at Nikki Beach St. Barts on New Year’s Eve 2009, including the commissions paid to her booking agency, were donated to the earthquake relief efforts for Haiti over a year ago,” her publicist told The Huffington Post. “Once it became known that the third-party promoter was linked to the Gadhafi family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause.”
The amount the singer earned for the gig was not disclosed.
MTV.com reported the announcement regarding Beyonce’s donation came shortly after singer Nelly Furtado said she also gave away to needy people the paycheck she picked up for staging a concert for the Gadhafis.
“In 2007, I received 1million$ from the Gadhafi clan to perform a 45 min. show for guests at a hotel in Italy,” MTV.com said Furtado wrote via Twitter Monday. “I am going to donate the $.”
Rolling Stone magazine Monday reported the music industry had called upon stars including Beyonce, Usher, Mariah Carey and 50 Cent to return the money they were paid for concerts performed before Moammar Gadhafi’s relatives.

Miley Cyrus misses Hannah Montana

The 18-year-old singer-and-actress – who shot to fame playing the titular character in the Disney TV series from the age of 12 – is looking forward to hosting ‘Saturday Night Live’ tomorrow evening (05.03.11) but regrets the fact she no longer gets to portray the student and secret pop star on the hit show.
Asked if she misses ‘Hannah Montana’, she told US TV talk show host Jimmy Fallon: “Yeah.  I miss doing that stuff you know.
“I love doing this and writing the skits and everything [on ‘SNL]’. I mean, I kinda want to beg to let them let me stay for a little while.”
Miley also donned a fake moustache during her appearance on the talk show after revealing she is obsessed with facial hair.
She admitted: “I have a diamond moustache with me at all times.
“I collect all kind of things with moustaches – pins and mugs and people.”
While Miley misses ‘Hannah Montana’, her father Billy Ray Cyrus – who also appeared in the show – recently claimed it had ruined his family.
The country singer – who is in the process of divorcing wife Tish – said: “The damn show destroyed my family. I hate to say it, but I’d take it back in a second.”
